Ascot Range of Glass Balustrades in Stainless Steel Posts

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ON THE ASCOT RANGE OF GLASS BALUSTRADES, PLEASE CONTACT US ON 01628 526995. DUE TO THE LARGE POSSIBLE NUMBER OF VARIATIONS AND SIZES, THIS RANGE IS NOT AVAILABLE TO BE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE SEND YOUR REQUIREMENTS TO US BE EMAIL (htfenceanddecking@btconnect.com) OR FAX (01628 522541) OR TEL (01628 526995). PAYMENT WILL BE TAKEN BY CREDIT CARD.

Our Ascot Glass Range is a keenly priced, off the shelf, glass balustrading system for the professional or competent DIY person. The range can only be installed in level decking.

We offer the following configurations in this range.

a) A 304 and a 316 grade 48.3mm diameter stainless steel newel post with cover plate pre-drilled for glass clamps, either as:
i) End posts with 2 glass clamps.
ii) Intermediate posts with 4 glass clamps.
iii) Ends posts with 4 glass clamps, 2 at right angles to each other.
All posts are 1 metre high. The 316 grade stainless steel posts is recommended for external areas near the sea or around swimming pools. The 304 grade is fine for other areas.

b) The posts can either be linked by a handrail (these can be easily purchased from your local warehouse shed), or have no handrail. If no handrail the maximum distance between posts is 1.4 metres, and with a handrail 1.6 metres. Post tops are finished with either:
i) A stainless steel end cap, used when there is no handrail.
ii) A straight saddle for attaching a handrail.
iii) A corner saddle when there is a right angle in the balustrade for attaching a handrail.
The end cap and/or saddles will arrive glued to the tops of the posts.

c) The 10mm tempered glass, polished all round, can be cut to any width and therefore all rectangular decking sizes can be accommodated. The glass will be 0.9 metre high. A 100mm gap should be left between the bottom of the glass and the decking. The top of the glass will then be level with the top of the post.

For decks over 600mm from the ground, consult a structural engineer or your local building inspector.

Pricing

The pricing of the Ascot Range is very simple.
a) Measure the total length of the balustrade in metres. Distances should be measured from the centre of the posts.
b) For 304 grade stainless steel multiply the length in metres x £185 (inc. VAT). This is the price to you.
c) For 316 grade stainless steel multipy the length in metres x £205 (inc VAT). This is the price to you.
d) Give us your measurements and a sketch of the balustrade.

There will be an additional charge for non UK mainland, Scottish highlands, where total decking length is less than 3 metres or when posts are less than 1.2 metres apart.

Assembly Instructions for Ascot Range of Glass Balustrades in Stainless Steel Posts

1. The glass and the stainless steel posts and fittings will arrive separately. You should allow around 3 weeks for the receipt of the glass as it is cut to you size and then tempered.

2. When glass and stainless steel has arrived, first erect the stainless steel posts. The posts should be bolted through to the joists using galvanised bolts. If the post is not above a joist, bolt a piece of 4'x2' onto the decking planks and then attach the post.

3. Remove the lugs from the glass clamps and bolt onto the pre-drilled stainless steel posts.

4. Insert the tempered glass.

Ordering Glass and Stainless Steel Posts

Please send us the following information:
a) The width between the CENTRES of the posts for each section.
b) The width of the glass that you require for each section. The width of glass is 50mm less than the distance between the posts. (This allows a 25mm gap between the glass and the post. This gap is required for the glass clamp.) The posts should be no more than 1.6 metres apart if a handrail is used, or 1.4 metres if no handrail is to be installed.
c) A sketch of the balustrade showing distances.
